New Dye System
Have you ever wanted a specific color for your armor, but no matter what combinations you've tried you can't get it right? Or have you noticed that the same dye combinations show differently, depending on what armor they are applied? Well, here's my suggestion:
Add an in game color palette, somewhat like this:
Simply pick the exact color you want and the game will tell you what dyes are needed. Obviously the same combinations will need to be used for multiple end colors, but if the correct dyes are put into the palatte window with the specific color chosen, then that will be the color applied.
That's my idea, let me know what you think.

Cool idea, now whenever you apply dies you just get pale, off-color garbage. So even IF you picked the color that you wanted i think it'd be impossible for any dye combo of 4 to turn up with that color They just ruined dyes, and i mean RUINED, desecrated, annihilated all dye with the release of nightfall.
RIP dye. I feel your pain.

It would have to be more than black because you would be able to make black. I'd make it dependant of black dye price.

There wouldn't need to be any additional costs except for the dyes themselves. I supposed you could give the dye trader an item to give players to innitiate the dye palatte (such as double-clicking this item and then clicking on what you want dyed, instead of double-clicking on the dye itself) if you wanted to get fancy. Something like a Dye Applicator, and I don't think there would need to be any sort of cost for this item.
To give an example of my type of problem:
I love the color of the armor, but it's impossible to get my mask to match it. I could get the 15k Kurzick mask to match the armor, but I think the Imposing Mask looks far better.
Another thought did occur to me, in that some people might not want the added trouble of finding colors, and would prefer the current system. I think it would be easy to keep the old system and implement the new as well. A player could double-click on the dye itself (like you do now) and apply to an armor to open the current system, while a player could double-click on the Dye Applicater to open the new system.

It would be good, but with the current system it's impossible to get most colors.... the best example is red : you can't create a blood-red color on most armor.

what about a system where the higher total numerical value costs more (black being max in the 3 colors)?

/signed. Sometimes it would really help what specific dyes to use to get a particular colour.

Therotically we could use codes for colours, like the hexedecimal/RGB codes. That could be useful, you could even save them to a template and click on the at a preview screen to see how it would look on your armour.

I'd rather focus in making the dyes work correctly before changing the way to apply the dyes themselves.
Examples of what you get now:
- Silver+Yellow, elementalist armor: Khaki instead of gold.
- Grey + Silver, necromancer armor: Dar green instead of dark silver.
I don't really care about the 'way' to apply the dyes, but red+blue should be pruple ALWAYS in all armors, not red here and blue here and brown there.

I think this would be better if like instead of it telling you what dyes to mix, you would go to dye trader, chose the custom color you are talking about, and then it would offer you a "custom dye" or something for like 20k or w/e price it would be set at, which would be the exact color you wanted.
